Celebrating Doctoral Student Achievements

As we embark on a new semester, join us in congratulating CSHP doctoral students, Ruhun Wasata and Rossmary Marquez Lameda, for their recent scholarly achievements! Doctoral student Ruhun Wasata, MA, MSS was chosen to receive the Santosh Jain Memorial Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Santosh Jain Memorrial Scholarship "offers financial support to a current international graduate student who has demonstrated commitment to service and education and plans to  pursue a service-oriented career". Recipients of this award "possess a track record of service to underserved or rural communities, humanitarian causess, or educational organizations in activities that support an improvement in the lives and opportunities to those in impoverished communities".  

 

CSHP doctoral student, Ruhun Wasata

Doctoral student Rossmary Marquez Lameda, MPH, received the Irsay Graduate Fellowship for the Fall 2023 semester. The Isray Graduate Fellowship is a newly inaugurated "Fellowship program for graduate students involved in sociomedical sciences at Indiana University Bloomington to further the mission of advancing interdisciplinary research in the sociomedical sciences". Irsay Graduate Fellowships are given to graduate students who demonstrate "a clear record of interest in, or engagement with, sociomedical research", and are sponsored by the University Graduate School.
